Collar packaging machine
The Collar Packaging Machine is a vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) unit engineered to convert flat rollstock of heat-sealable laminated film into finished pouches through a precision forming collar and thermal sealing assembly. The machine forms a continuous film tube around the product fill tube, indexes the film via servo-driven transport, and executes simultaneous cross-seal and cut-off through a reciprocating jaw system. It is deployed in high-speed packaging lines for granular, powdered, and solid consumer goods.

Forming Collar Assembly: Precision-machined 304 stainless steel forming collar (surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.8 μm) shapes the flat film web into a continuous tube around the product fill tube. The collar geometry is matched to the target bag width to ensure consistent seam alignment with ±0.5 mm registration accuracy.
Cross-Seal and Cut-Off System: A reciprocating jaw assembly performs simultaneous cross-sealing and bag separation. Dual-jaw configuration allows overlapping seal-and-cut cycles, achieving a minimum jaw dwell time of 0.3 s per cycle. Sealing jaw width: 10–15 mm (model dependent). Jaw parallelism tolerance: ≤0.1 mm.
Servo-Driven Film Transport: Film pull-down is executed by servo-controlled belt drives with encoder feedback (resolution: 4096 pulses/rev), maintaining registration accuracy of ±0.5 mm across the film web. Transport speed range: 0.5–2.5 m/s depending on bag length and throughput setting.
Pneumatic Control System: All actuator functions are driven by a centralized pneumatic system operating at 0.5–0.6 MPa. The system includes an air filter-regulator-lubricator (FRL) unit with automatic moisture drainage and a minimum air consumption of 150 L/min (at 0.6 MPa) under full-load operation.

Maintenance Schedule
All maintenance operations must be performed with the main power disconnected and locked out (LOTO). Retain service logs for each machine unit with date, operator ID, and action taken.
Daily (Every Shift)
Wipe sealing jaw faces with a soft cloth; remove carbonized film residue
Inspect film path for debris or adhesive buildup on guide rollers (roller surface temperature during operation: 35–55°C)
Verify pneumatic pressure at 0.5–0.6 MPa; drain moisture from the FRL unit
Check film tracking alignment; adjust guide rollers if edge drift exceeds 2 mm
Annually
Overhaul sealing jaw assemblies; replace heating elements (rated: 300–600 W per jaw, model dependent) and thermocouples (Type K, accuracy class: ±1.5°C) as a set
Re-grease all bearing blocks and linear guides (grease volume: 5–10 g per bearing point)
Load-cell recalibration (if equipped with integrated checkweigher; accuracy after recalibration: ±0.1 g)
